You look fine on the outside. Inside, it’s a different story.

01

Anxiety that won’t switch off

Overthinking, a racing heart, replaying conversations and thoughts spiralling. You’ve tried to be logical, but it doesn’t work.

02

Trauma responses resurfacing

Childhood experiences, a controlling or narcissistic relationship, a loss you never got to grieve. It was years ago, and you may question why this continues to happen now.

03

Stuck in recurring patterns

You know exactly what you do. People-pleasing, shutting down, choosing the same kind of person. Knowing hasn’t been enough to change it.

There is nothing wrong with you. You are someone who adapted and survived.

Trauma-informed, always

Understand. Feel safe. Live beyond trauma.

Trauma-informed means I never ask “what’s wrong with you?”. I ask what happened, and how your mind and body learned to keep you safe.

From there we work at your pace, giving you autonomy, creating safety, building upon your strengths and ways to support your emotional dysregulation.

  • You set the pace. Nothing is forced or rushed.
  • Anxiety, narcissistic abuse recovery, low self-worth, grief.
  • In person in Plymouth, or online from anywhere in the UK.

About Alicia

Experienced, sensitively attuned and compassionate.

I’m a psychotherapeutic counsellor and BACP Registered Member based in Plymouth. I’ve spent years working with people carrying anxiety, trauma and the after-effects of harmful relationships.

I have learnt that when we feel safe enough to explore what has caused hurt and harm, with someone who can hold it, we can change and develop a greater understanding of our thoughts, behaviours and responses. I offer a space to be able to do this safely and compassionately.

Alicia was with me every step of the way, even on the worst days. She gave me hope that I would feel different about my life. By the end of our sessions, I smiled again.

She was so warm and accepting, I knew I had come to the right person. I felt safe to open up about some very difficult events, which has created really positive change in my life.
